which you can solve by directly applying formulas.
3. Lack of proper planning:
Remember friends in GATE what not to read is same important as what to
read. Before knowing marks distribution of subject will leads to wastage of
time and energy.
4. Solving Numerical:
While studying too much
focus on theory portion and giving less time to solve
problems. My personal experience is to understand the concept only
reading theory won’t help much, after solving numerical only your understanding
will improve. And in GATE they are not asking theories, 90% questions are
in form of numerical. So first understand the game then play...!
5. Leaving Mathematics and Aptitude Part:
This is
common mistake done by most of the aspirants thinking they are easy. This is
scoring portion, by doing continuous practice you can score maximum in this
portion only because it includes approx. 30 marks...!
6. Revision:
Friends by
only reading once or twice you can’t remember and recollect all subjects at the
exam time. You have to revise at least 4 to 5 times one
subject to get grip on it.

finish your preparation 1.5 months before exam and start giving full length
mock tests from then on, every alternative day. Gate exam test series improve
your score 9–10 marks easily. You should
only study from your short notes copy and nothing else after you start giving
full length mock tests because you won't get time to study the entire subject
from reference books 2–3 days before exams. You should write new concepts that
you learned from your mock tests and also analyse your mistakes. Test series

5. Gate Mathematics and General Aptitude:
Everyday
give min 2 hr for Mathematics and General Aptitude because Mathematics
and general aptitude contain 30 marks. They are usually less difficult and direct than subject
