Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination conducted jointly by the
Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes

GATE 2021
Graduate
Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is basically an examination on the
comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects
in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in
Science. GATE 2021 will be conducted for 25 subjects (also referred to as
“papers”) and it would be distributed over 1st , 2nd, 8th & 9th of February
2021. The GATE examination centres are spread in different cities across India,
as well as, in six cities outside India. The examination would be purely a
Computer Based Test (CBT).
The
GATE score would reflect the relative performance level of the candidate in a
particular subject, which is quantified based on the several years of
examination data. Note that the GATE 2021 score is valid for THREE YEARS from
the date of announcement of the results.

information will also be collected for random candidates before the commencement

What Is GATE Exam?
Every
year GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) CBT based exam conducted at
the national level in India. This exam also for the international students from
the following countries Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, United Arab
Emirates.
GATE
is administered jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore
and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (namely, IITs at Bombay, Delhi,
Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee). The GATE Committee, which
comprises of representatives from the administering institutes, is the sole
authority for regulating the examination and for declaring the results. For
administrative purposes, the examination cities in India are segregated into
eight zones. The operations related to GATE, in each of the eight zones, are
managed by a Zonal GATE Office at the administering institute (IIT or IISc).

Newspapers/Employment News/Rozgar Samachar by the concerned authority.

score for their recruitment purpose.
Gate Exam Pattern
GATE Exam paper
ask two type of questions first will objective in nature and each
question will have choice of four answers. And second will Numerical
Answer Questions, that type of questions will be no choices available for these
types of questions. The answer for these questions is a real number to be
entered by using mouse and virtual keypad displayed on the monitor. No negative
marking for these questions.
In this paper each question
(Both objective and Numerical Answer Questions) carries 1- or
2-marks questions in all the sections.

GATE 2021
Marks of Each Topic:
The gate 2019 total number of questions
will 65, have 100 marks. In this exam 10 questions will be from General
Aptitude carrying 15 marks. Papers with the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC,
EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF and XE, will include a compulsory Engineering
Mathematics section carrying around 15% of the total marks, and General
Aptitude section carrying 15% of total marks. The remaining 70% is reserved for
the subject of the paper.
Negative Marking: in
gate 2019 the negative marking scheme for 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be
deducted for every incorrect attempt. In case of 2-mark MCQs, the candidate
will be penalised 2/3 mark for wrong attempt for questions that aren’t
attempted, zero marks will be awarded. There is no negative marking for numerical
answer type (NAT) questions.

What is a Good GATE Score?
GATE
Exam score is
usually announced in the 3rd week of March (around 40 days from the exam date).
This score card valid 3 year of publication.

Over 500 institutes including
the IISc, IITs and NITs require GATE score for admission to their ME, M.Tech
and MS Programs.
·
The score is used for
admissions to various post-graduate programmes (eg. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.)
in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by
MHRD and other Government agencies.

The score may also be used
by Public sector units (PSUs) for employment screening purposes.

How to Apply for Gate Exam?
The
online application applies date form 1st week of September 2020 to 4st week of
September 2020 till. For more detail go to Official GATE 2021 website http://gate.iitd.ac.in/. Gate 2021 online apply
registration process will be done through GATE Online Application Processing
System (GOAPS). If any candidate fails to submit application form, they will
not be allowed to attempt the examination.
