SSC JE Syllabus & Exams Pattern for Civil Engineering 2023

There will be two papers in the SSC JE exam. Paper 1 will be of the objective type [online mode], while Paper 2 [offline mode] will be a descriptive paper. SSC JEN Civil Engineering Paper 1 will consist of questions from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering [Civil Engineering] as per the syllabus. Paper 2 will be taken for those candidates who pass Paper 1. In Paper 2, descriptive questions will be asked as per your civil engineering branch. SSC JE Exam Pattern & Syllabus Civil Engineering for Paper 1 [Pre]

SSC JE Paper 1 will be of the objective type. SSC JE Paper 1 will be made up of three sections, which are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering. SSC JE Paper 1 will be conducted on a Computer Based Test (Online Mode).

There will be three sections in this exam:

1.      General Awareness (50 marks)

The Syllabus for General Intelligence would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. 2.   General Awareness:

Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity and Scientific Research, etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

SSC JE Exam Pattern & Syllabus Civil Engineering for Paper 2 [Mains]

Only those candidates who qualify for Paper 1 of the SSC Junior Engineer exam will be able to appear for Paper 2. SSC JE Paper 2 will be of the descriptive type. Paper 2 will have 300-mark questions, and 2 hours will be given to solve the paper. Questions will be asked from the descriptive type of your civil engineering branch. This exam will be conducted in offline mode.
